Need help logging in?

I forgot my Moodle password. What should I do?

  • Click on “Forgotten your username or password?” on the Moodle login page.
  • Enter your username.
  • Check your cellphone for an OTP or your email for a password reset link and follow the instructions. Note that the email address and the cell phone number must be the same details you used on your application.

My username or email isn’t recognised.

  • Double-check for spelling errors.
  • Check the credentials that have been sent to you.

I’m getting an “Invalid login” or "System error message" error.

  • Make sure Caps Lock is off.
  • Try typing your password in a text editor to check for typos, then copy-paste it into Moodle.
  • If you still can’t log in, reset your password here.
  • Ensure that you have not previously used the new password.
  • Ensure that your new password conforms to the system requirements as shown on the password reset page.
  • Contact support if the problem persists at bpcict@sun.ac.za.

I can log in, but I don’t see my course.

  • Check if the course has a start date in the future.
  • If the course should be visible, contact your Programme Manager.

I’m getting a “Session timeout” or “Error loading page.”

  • Clear your browser’s cache and cookies.
  • Try using a different browser (e.g., Chrome, Firefox).
  • Make sure your internet connection is stable.
